I came home from the driving school about 20 minutes ago, and I heard a lot of tiny chirping from the nest box up in my tree on the front. I knew since long before that a Blue Tit couple have claimed it for their own this year, and I've been hearing their little peeps for a while now. But I got this sudden urge to get at least *one* photo of them before they leave the nest and fly away.
Done and done, I go get a ladder, climb up, gently unhasp and lift the side.... and get pleasantly surprised at the look of my latest tenants (I charge them in being cute and visiting my feeder when I'm eating).
I actually thought they'd be further along at this point, but heck, I'm not going to complain. So cute!!
Have a look and see if you can spot how many there are.
P.S. I've never stopped being surprised of how all blue tit chicks seem to have a perpetual frown on their faces. I mean, look at the two in the front. It's like they're trying to say "Oi! Bugger off!"

Aw, very cute Euro! I'm glad to hear you have a house and feeder out, it's always good to hear about people taking care of animals. I hope the camera didn't scare them too badly! As for guessing how many chicks there are it's kind of hard to tell because they seem to form just a big feathery pile in the middle there ( ) but I think there's six little blue tit chicks there.
You're right about the two in the front looking like they're glaring at you, though. XD
Thanks for sharing a cute photo Euro! I hope everything is going well for you. And as a side note because I missed mentioning it on your last journal: thanks a lot for being a cool guy and doing the contests and commissions that you do. It's always great to see someone doing something like that and you're a great guy for being so dedicated to it. I wish the fandom (or hell, the world for that matter) had more people like you.
Anyway, thanks again and good luck with everything! ^^

My father took up the hobby of installing cameras in the nesting spots of all the bird nesting spots on the property. But only the unused chimney is occupied by a couple of crows at the moment. ...On a little side note the cameras they sell these days have built in cameras. Thought he was watching one of the Aliens movies on his computer this morning turned out the parents were feeding the chicks.
