Hello,
I sincerely apologize for the delay in providing updates on the status of commissions. I have been facing several challenges over the past month, including issues with my animals, my mental health, and a hurricane that hit Houston, Texas, in early July.
Due to the hurricane, I was without power and internet for approximately eight days, which significantly disrupted my work schedule. This caused some inconvenience to clients who were expecting their commissions to be completed during that week, and I understand their frustration.
I am committed to fulfilling all outstanding commissions as soon as possible and will provide regular updates on their progress on my Trello.
At the beginning of this month, I engaged in a brief period of time to do freeform art for Art fight. However, I have not continued with this activity since the day after my power was restored following a hurricane. Instead, I have been diligently learning a new art program and becoming familiar with my new art tablet. I dedicated a week to this learning process to ensure that I am comfortable with the program and can effectively transition my commissions to this new platform.
Subsequently, I received refund requests from approximately four individuals, which required scheduling to process these requests. Unfortunately, shortly after, I encountered a sudden chargeback on PayPal. As a result, I am currently unable to issue any refunds for approximately the next month and a half due to the significant backlog of payments. This situation is particularly challenging given my current unemployment status, which makes it difficult for me to manage these financial obligations.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, commissions will be closed until further notice. While I understand the financial implications of this decision, I have been advised by my clients that I am not entitled to any income until all outstanding commissions are completed. As a result, my only source of income will be from sporadic gifts from my family, which are not guaranteed. I have recently sold a few of my snakes, and the final sale will be completed in August. However, after that, I will have no income. It appears that I am not permitted to earn an income, despite my best efforts to provide for myself and my animals.
It is unfortunate that some clients have reacted negatively to the time it takes to complete commissions or to my taking breaks. To protect myself and ensure that clients are aware of my terms of service, I will be requiring that all future commissions be filled out via a Google form. This form will include a section where clients must enter their name and a date, confirming that they agree to the terms of service.
My terms of service clearly state that I take my time with commissions and that I take breaks. Additionally, there is a no-refund policy. However, I have had to make exceptions in the past due to the stress caused by clients who were unhappy with the time it took to complete their commissions. I do not have the resources to continue making these exceptions.
Therefore, I am implementing this new policy to ensure that clients are aware of my terms of service and that they agree to them before commissioning me.
The recent hurricane resulted in the loss of a significant portion of my reptile supplies, incurring substantial financial strain. I was forced to take out a loan a few months ago as well, which I am still repaying, making it challenging to suddenly allocate $200 for refunds suddenly.
It is important to note that my current employment status is due to several limitations. Despite consistent job applications, I have faced rejections or encountered obstacles that prevent successful employment. My uncle, who provides transportation, has a criminal record (pedophilia) that restricts his presence within a certain radius of parks, schools, and other sensitive locations. This limitation further complicates my ability to secure employment.
Additionally, I do not possess a driver's license, and my family prioritizes teaching my younger siblings to drive rather than assisting me in obtaining one. Consequently, I am actively seeking remote work opportunities or positions that align with my limited resources.
I am considering placing certain areas of my commission queue on hold for potential refunds and canceling the associated orders. The workload has become overwhelming, and I recognize my inability to fulfill all the commissions. The increasing frustration expressed by clients has prompted me to explore this course of action.
Specifically, I intend to refund all commissions related to Hazbin Hotel and a select few bundles. However, these refunds will not be processed immediately. I will reach out to each client individually to discuss the details and determine the appropriate refund amount. Once all the necessary information has been gathered, I will create a list and gradually work through it to issue the refunds.
I understand that this process may take some time, but I believe it is the most responsible approach to address the situation. I prioritize the well-being of my clients and aim to avoid confrontations that could exacerbate my mental health issues. I appreciate your understanding and patience in this matter.
I will be issuing refunds for all Hazbin Hotel Card commissions and certain other bundle commissions.
The timeframe for this process is uncertain, but I will make every effort to notify each client within the next two weeks. Please bear with me during this time, as I am currently experiencing a great deal of personal and social stress..
Thank you for your understanding and patience. I look forward to resuming full communication after this brief hiatus.
Refunds are now open for everything but please understand that I am not gonna refund immediately and if it is easier for me to do the art I will.
