I've been stuck on naming this bugger for ages now! I wanted to call him "Silver" for the longest of time but it felt so, I dunno unoriginal or obvious maybe. As time went by however I started realizing where I want to put him. Since my custom species don't really have a world, and neither does my warrior snep Sigfrid, I've started vaguely building on some lore for a word that fits them.
BUT due to the nature of that world I can't really describe it all that much, the very idea is that it'll be a very strange world. So instead of calling this guy "Silver" plain and simple, I decided that these fish people use light to communicate. More specifically, colors. So some part shifts color in sequence and that's how they communicate deep underwater. So his name is a bunch of grayish colors together which everyone else has no idea what it means and so they ended up calling him Silver.
I haven't decided if they can communicate with other species in some form yet, while it would be cool if they couldn't, it'd also possibly be sorta cumbersome and annoying in the long run. But yea that world and this lore is very much in its infancy so far. What we do know is that people refer to this one as Silver and is one of few of his kind that have met others. He's obviously aquatic but can walk on land as well, though much like our aquatic species, he'll dry up if he's up there for too long.
They're very intelligent beings but their culture is virtually unknown by everyone so they seem very strange. He can perform various but seemingly weak magical spells which isn't all that uncommon in their world. It's somehow been established that he's likely male, though nobody really knows what that entails for this species. It's also been established that the waters they live in are REALLY deep which makes them even more elusive. That's about all for my little rant on this guy, I really love the design and he gives me a lot of ideas so he's a really nice addition in my book.
