Fighting through the undergrowth and mire you begin to reach the depths of the swamp only to realize that this is not a natural swamp no its much worse as through the mist and trees you spot its daunting figure. Far to late have you figured out that you are not an explorer no you are trespasser and now the lands owner has caught your scent.

Galrin like many black dragon makes his lair in a great swamp while the land he claims as his extends far beyond the reach of the ever growing quagmire one could consider the swamp his fortress or home. Like many adult dragons his presence actively transforms the land to suit his preferences and the longer he stays in the area the farther the corruption spreads. The land itself rots with trees growing large and twisted while the ground turns to mush and mud with the waters far and wide becoming tainted and foul unable to be drank while clouding over. Black dragons are great swimmers and despite the terrain are able to move with an almost unnatural ease through their territory swimming through hidden tunnels and channels launching out of the water to take prey by surprise while being able to glide between the twisted trees to keep pursuit. To find yourself deep in the lair of a black dragon would be a miserable experience and likely not a very long lived one.
