Original Species: Mantis-Claw Wyvern
The Mantis-Claw Wyvern is a close relative of the Brutarm Wyvern. It resides in the dense forests on the northern coast of Shangrila. As a herbivore, it uses its elongated, mantis-like claws to pull down vegetation. Regarding its ecological niche, it is a high browser, feeding on leaves and fruit. On occasion, it supplements its diet with small invertebrates.
Both males and females have a colorful head and throat. Those are used in courtship rituals and for intraspecific threat displays.
Disposition-wise, the Mantis-Claw is less aggressive than its cousin, the Brutarm, but still poses a potential threat to unwary explorers. Also unlike its cousin, this wyvern possesses a potent breath weapon, one shared with many frugivorous wyverns that call the forests of Shangrila home: alcoholic breath. By eating a lot of fruit and other plant matter, the Mantis-Claw produces vast quantities of Ethanol which it then stores in sacks on the sides of its neck. When threatened, it expels this highly concentrated alcohol as a mist that causes severe irritation to the eyes and airways of the target. If inhaled, the mist causes disorientation and other effects typical of alcohol poisoning.
If the Mantis-Claw's breath attack doesn't detour the aggressor, it will resort to slashing, pecking, tail lashing it until it relents or is killed. Due to that, explorers are strongly advised to give this wyvern a wide birth is at all possible.

my familiarity with 40k ends at a few session recordings for Orctober on the Unexpectables channel so... the resemblance is purely coincidental
I was going for a more Therizinosaur and Megatherium vibe with this one:

same niche as those two, but in the form of a wyvern that gave up flying
