Well, I know nothing of this umbra's homeplanets soil, but the soil could be, either harder, comparable, or easier to work then earth soil. There's also the fact that the crops she grows might not be as lucrative, or easy to grow as ours and thus makes it a constant need to plant and plant...Pests also are an issue, and being bigger, also means bigger feeding...Unless they don't eat much.
