Dr Madsen was one of the top students at the same university Kim Kashikoi went to in Canberra, Australia. The two of them shared a love in robotics and what that might bring to the future of the world.
After graduation he moved to America since that would be where the biggest market for robots would be, as well as cybernetics that he studied on the side and earned him an award for having made an all new version of the pace maker.
Said invention as well as a showcase of everything else he made impressed Castor Brandfield, the president of the New York based corporation Overgarden and eventually made him the main lead scientist there.
That was until Jens noticed that Castor was doing some illegal activities and made one of his robots for his project D.E.A.T.H. (Detect Evil And Terminate Hunters) hack into the network to find more proof. That however lead to Castor reprimanding Jens and fired him while also blacklisting him from working for any American corporation, and having most of his research taken from him, including his experiment with making full cyborgs out of people without crediting him.
That lead him to seek up his old friend in Japan to try and get a job at Heavenly Kyuubi, but a disagreement about the use of robots and him not seeing them as worthy having the role of president as well as insulting Kim lead to him being thrown out.
He eventually met with a mysterious individual who promised to fund his project and together with him form a new organization, D.E.A.T.H.
From that moment on the organization amassed resources and underlings who willingly was ready to be augmented with cybernetics for combat and scientific purposes, and some charismatic troopers even got to have the role of selling their robots to anyone who would want to spread their own form of "justice".
It seems like he's not fully aware of how his organization is not as heroic as he wanted it to be, and in his mind (not helped by the manipulations of his sponsor) he sees the Heavenly Kyuubi robots as someones who wants to steal his thunder and mock him. Drifting him further away from his tanuki friend and closer to insanity.
