I got the most recent drawing in my big black sketch book at a very unlikely location - Kinko's - from a very unlikely source - a martial arts instructor! But that's exactly what happened...
I was at the Kinko's in Coral Springs, Florida, making copies of the last few sketches (drawn at "AnthroCon 2010" and "Megacon 2011") - for scanning on my computer - when one of the other customers was quite curious about the variety of 'funny animal' characters in the pages of my sketch book...
Steve Ensign told me that he likes to draw such characters himself. "Oh?" I said. "What do you do when you aren't an artist?" - to which Steve replied, "I teach kids how to defend themselves, through martial arts!"
He asked if he could draw his martial arts 'mascot' in my sketch book, to which I consented. About 5-7 minutes later, the drawing was complete, and a new character graced a page of my sketch book... 'Round House Rabbit' - a high-kicking lapine with a black belt in karate!
(BTW, the name 'Round House' is a boxing term; it's NOT to be confused with the 'fat furry' characters associated with the specialty art website "The Round House".)
"I'm in a hurry now," Steve said (upon completion of his drawing). "I gotta go!" I shook his hand and thanked him for the unexpected contribution. Now, I had an extra drawing to make a copy of - to scan and post here in "Fur Affinity".
Let me know what you think of 'Round House Rabbit', and I'll pass the word along to Steve Ensign... or you can tell him yourself, via the E-mail address at the bottom of the picture!
