Northeast of the Great Sands lies the Rainless Plains, a rather arid land as the name suggests where it hardly ever rains and few beings manage to thrive. Though called the rainless plains, it does rain there once every one and a half year or every two and a half years if the drought lasts longer than usual. While water can be a scarce resource life is still abundant here and food can be plentiful for those who know where to look or hunt for it, and so the Vossen managed to find a new home here as well and change as they adapted to this new home. They live in villages around some of the few semi permanent water sources, using the local mud to build their mud brick shelters, some villages have found water underground and built wells instead so they do not have to fend off local wildlife from their water source and it also allows them to do grow some limited crops to reduce some of the need for foraging.
The main soource of food however is hunting and the Vossen have adapted well to this environment to be very effective at it, their striped fur helping them blend in with the tall dry grass to ambush grazing animals, large ears to locate prey by hearing and strong bodies to take down medium sized prey or fight off other predators. Like other Vossen they can run at high speed over long distances and thus can chase their prey untill it runs out of stamina and either gives up or stands to try and fight.
Though the Savannah Vossen seem primitive at first sight they have managed to keep some parts of their original culture, such as their weapons although made either from bone, wood or stone mostly as metals are a rare find so the weapons made of metal or reserved for the village leaders or those of high standing. one thing in common with their cousins from the Vossen Islands are the duels for mating rights, although the males and females don't fight eachother, only amongst themselves if they are after the same male or female to make sure that the strongest get to breed first and make the entire tribe stronger for it over time. The young are raised in a common hut, often away from their parents who are off to hunt or protect the village, but they do get to spend time with their parents as well especially once they are old enough to learn to hunt.
The pair we see here are hunters who usually wear little clothing to allow for more freedome of movement, warriors often wear armor made of wood and bone and common clothing is typically made of straw and resembles the old traditional clothing somewhat, sometimes the material can even be dyed or have patterns woven in with different color grass or leaves for variety.
The Savannah Vossen do not have much contact with the outside world as few ever visit this harsh land, and they themselves are not too keen on travel and exploration since everyone has their role in the village and none can really be missed to be gone for any length of time, so the only contact the Vossen have is with the tall walkers who originally helped them to survive in this land, but this contact is typically limited to some minor trade for food or water. Still, it is seen as a blessing to recieve these mysterioous people in the village as they are said to bring the rains with them, which is true in a sense as they arrive shortly before the rain season starts without fail.
