Hi-Note: violin guy
had a thought at 1am: When Raf’s career started making the pivot from ""classical violin prodigy"" to ""teen pop sensation"" between the age of 13-16 years old or w/e, part of his insane PR circuit was doing collaborations and being featured in tracks by other way more behemothly popular [but elegant, maturely branded] musical artists. Specifically, he'd be featured as a violinist in these massive hit pop tracks.
So like, "Track Name by HUGE FAMOUS ARTIST [Feat. Raf Ephrem]" And Raf's contributions wouldn't be vocal but instrumental[violin]. It'd have been an amazing way to quickly get his name into international households early, cus what 90's ballad isn't made a bajillion times better with a nice violin solo featured in it??
Listen, what I am trying to assert here is that--in the Hi-Note universe, the violin in Celine Dion’s song “To Love You More” is a 15 year old Raf.
In the Hi-Note world 90's music really liked including orchestral instrumentation and--especially the violin. It became very overdone and cliche, and the trend soon after disappeared. But people in the Hi-Note au can't think of 90's music without thinking of overdone string instruments.
Margie’s total ignorance for Raf’s entire past career, despite how popular and prolific it was, is my favorite thing that she brings to their relationship lmao.

If Raf had continued with the violin as his main, I feel like you'd also say he's the AU's Lindsey Stirling. Which I certainly wouldn't be against.
But also, they act like such a married couple, that if I didn't already know so much about them, I would've probably been shocked whenever I found out they aren't, haha.

Haha Raf would be lindsey stirling, if stirling had a milti-million dollar PR campaign backing her up and making sure her name shows up everywhere. I think if Raf had stayed on the trajectory that his mom had set up for him he could have hit Taylor Swift levels of cult following. It would have been insane. I can't even imagine what kind of person that would have turned him into, either. I don't know what good parts of him could have survived it.
Raf and Margie are practically married lmao I think this little dialogue takes place even before their first kiss. But it's so easy for them to just...exist around each other like this, even so early on. it would likely be sometime in 2015/2016 and there would be no wedding reception or party...they'd sign the documents with one witness [probably tess haha] and then just be married. Maybe have a really nice dinner the three of them, as way of celebration lmao
