Why don't we have a show about this yet? It's right there. We have a book about stray cats fighting and exploring (Warrior Cats), knightly owls (Guardians of Ga'hole), but no dogs.
I want to make a show/comic about canines in a fantasy world. Intelligent canines that wear clothes, armor, weapons, and do fantasy stuff.
With the main focus being dogs/wolves in medieval aesthetic gear having to work to serve the kingdom of the Reach.
I'll try getting to making it once I finish what work and comms I owe.

Yeah, in all honesty, canines in general really don't have fantasy story to make them justice. I can only think of Foxcraft and it isn't even that popular, always overshadowed by Warrior Cats (Which for what I've read online, it sucks and really fell off), and of course Wings of Fire. So yeah it's a good idea to try and give 'em a bit of a well-deserved spotlight
True as heck. There are virtually none to speak of.
Hmm, never heard of Foxcraft. Warrior Cats, yeah kinda familiar with how it fell off.
Other closest we got, is the Fengo books (intelligent wolves surviving in the wilderness). However, Fengo is more of a spin off within/under Guardians of Ga'hoole, so it probably doesn't count.
The canines really need the fantasy spotlight. Just as much as how people wanting dragons as main characters in fantasy (but for some reason, authors keep defaulting to boring human main protags. Or the dragon turns into a human, defeating the whole purpose).

Yeah, to be fair, there's so little creativity in the genre. You barely see any other animals outside dragons and cats really. I've never heard of Fengo myself, but if it is a spin off of something that's not canine related, then I'd agree that it doesn't count
And yeah it makes sense that you don't know about Foxcraft, because Warrior Cats basically overshadowed it, despite the fact that the series basically sucks. Canines seriously deserve better.
I also hate the fact that whenever a canine gets shown in a fantasy setting, it's usually evil? Usually a feline (Like a lion), is the good, "pure" character, and the villain's always surrounded by some sort of canine (wolves usually for what I've seen) because of course wolves are "bad". Screw that stereotype

True. There really needs to be a change of things.
Yeah, Fengo is part of the Ga'hoole series, taking place within the same universe (unfortunately). So it doesn't exist independently.
Maybe when I see it, I may read it if I have time.
Oh that is so true. Think the last time I saw any rep of canines and wolves, it was in another book-adaptation Lion Witch and the Wardrobe. The only good canine character was the fox, who ended up being killed despise helping the protags.
How hard is it for an author to make a good canine faction. There's a reason why (dogs) canines are considered the closest companion animal. "Man's best friend." It's not that hard guys, just make a feral/quadruped rep who aids the team and stays alive towards the end.

Oh my... That movie. That movie gave me PTSD for so long. Poor fox... Trust me, if I was able to somehow get into a fictional world, I would have entered that exact same scene but with a good ol' shotgun. No magic can stop a 12G slug going at 443 meters for second after all.
If only they tried to revive the fox that movie would have redeemed itself, but no, it fell into the "Oooh lion is pure and wolf isn't!" stereotype which is just wrong in so many aspects. I love how they always forget that lions kill their own cubs in order to stay as the Pride's leader. Wolves protect even their own elders.
Funnily enough a lion makes more sense as a villain "mascot" than a wolf, and just like you said, canines are indeed considered Man's best friend, so why is it so darn hard to do that in movies? I guess Hollywood is just dumb maybe

Now that I think about it, it is canonically possible that someone could bring a trench gun into the LWW universe. Because it takes place around either WW1 or 2. If only the protagonist was more a child soldier (though they technically are already). Having a "Fear and Hunger 2" styled gun vs magic isn't far off.
I'd probably do the same. Shotgun the witch while they unexpectedly hear boss music. https://youtu.be/Ab7NiIUilwI
I'm remembering more clearly now, eugh. Literally this, lions commit a lot of filicide for what's supposed to be pack animals. Wolves are just better intellectually and physically, they can lice just about anywhere. Plus eventually grew to co-exist with humans via their descendants.
Hollywood is frequently just, derivative and don't think outside the box. Yeah I ought to make a darn series about fantasy canines.

Can't wait to see it! Maybe you could try and mock Hollywood stereotypes like the dragon one. Also glad to see someone who'd like to shotgun the god damn witch. Maybe T-Bag as if it was a game later on, to add insult to injury, if you know what I mean.
And yeah you're right, innovation is not Hollywood's strongest point for sure

Yeah, you're right... Creativity's basically dead in more corporate enviroments.
Ah yes, the **western** dragon stereotype, because no other fantasy creature exists! Wyverns don't exist, eastern dragons don't exist, goblins? Never heard of them, kitsunes? Nope! Just western dragons
