Originally Uploaded to DA on August 17, 2021Swali-un are the rarest of kasuri to find in the wild. Not because they're endangered, but because their society is very much one of secrets. These avian kasuri settle in villages up in the tops of old-growth forests, inaccessible to other kasuri. They're also very elitist. Swali-un have had a choke-hold on many kasurian muvas (or tribes), and have forced other kasuri to work for them. It's hard to know why they are like this, but all muvas have theories.
Swali-un are deadly fighters reliant on stealth attacks with quick cover-ups. This one is carrying a bow with special arrows imbued with magic, ones that puncture the victim and then vaporize their blood shortly after, leaving only the easily disposable body. That's the sort of style swali-un fight with; causing fear and chaos then waiting for the right moment to strike. Their society is one of terror, where you can easily go "missing" when you screw up.
But swali-un have their own infighting, including squabbles over territory. But there's a strange honor system that makes treating other swalis as if they were the lower species a horrible crime.
Ironically, this is where the temigot swali-un come in. Temigots (based on the kasurian word "temigo" meaning "enlightenment") are kasuri that disavow the horrible things their fellow bird people do. They're more open and welcoming, and are becoming more and more common as time goes on. They also stop the non-temigots from attacking by sticking their arbitrary honor system to them.
So, this is the next species in my planned isometric colony management sim/rogue-like RPG Kasuri. And funnily enough, I'm really starting to see tangible improvements in my drawing skills. I really think that's amazing. This is also the shortest it took for me to draw, finishing it in a couple days. So, the only way to get better at drawing, is to draw.
I'm still taking a hiatus from Pokeumans for a bit. I'm a bit burnt out, but I will start again at some point.
Still kinda wanna redesign them.
