The Warrior of Light awoke with a beating headache. His mind felt fractured and he struggled to open his eyes to the beating light of the sky bearing down on him. The Warrior sat up and shook his head attempting to get his bearings.
He looked around to see a forest, a woods unlike any he had ever seen. The Warrior tried to recall his memories and remembered. The Voice. That damned Voice called out to him once more.
The Warrior stood and attempted to cover his eyes. The overbearing light shined so brightly in his eyes. Someday he wished to find a hat that fit his head. His eyes slowly adjusted as he attempted to find any sign of life.
Just then the Warrior heard the crackling of fire. Readying his blade, he approached cautiously and stumbled upon a traveling merchant. A joyous man drinking around a campfire. The Warrior approached and the peddler confusingly joked about the night sky. The Warrior looked upon the dizzying light of the sky and the merchant boisterously laughed at his confusion.
The revelation that the sky had not donned its black mantle in over a century had shocked the Warrior. The merchant offered him a drink, but the Warrior refused. His focus trained upon the unending light of the sky. The merchant snuffed out the fire and bid the Warrior to travel to the Crystarium.
The two parted ways and the Warrior marched with purpose. Had he truly traveled to another world? More questions arose as the Warrior rounded the bend only to find a familiar sight. The Crystal Tower, standing tall and shimmering in the light as its crystal peak threatened to pierce the skies. How?
The Warrior quickened his pace before coming upon a checkpoint. The Viera guard questioned him of his origins, and the Warrior was unsure what to say. His pause gave the monster stalking him the chance to ambush him, but the vigilant Viera swiftly dispatched the strange creature.
The Warrior was left stunned, among the creature's remains was the gaudy ring worn by the same merchant he had only just met. The Viera noted his dismay, but insisted upon discerning the Warrior's origins.
Just then a hooded man had arrived. He quickly alleviated the Viera Lyna's concerns and declared the Warrior his guest assuring her of his identity. The Warrior's eyes focused on the man as he spoke. He is the one. The man whose voice rang so clearly in his head summoning him to this world.
He then bade the Warrior to follow him into the city, to answer some of his burning questions. This was the First. A shard of Hydaelyn. A world blighted by primordial light. A world in need of a hero.
Following an introduction to the city, The Warrior and the Crystal Exarch reconvened in the Crystal Tower. There the Warrior learned of the fate of his fellow Scions, as well as the eventual fate awaiting him back on the Source. The Eighth Umbral Calamity, his death. A fate the Scions have been working tirelessly to forestall.
The Crystal Exarch then bid the Warrior to reunite with his fellow Scions.
