So I don't usually ask for input on my Works-In-Progress, but here goes. :P Hopefully this won't be FAIL with 0 replies. |D
I'm trying a new painterly style I had in a dream. I've never done detailed backgrounds before.
The image is supposed to have a charming storybook feel to it, but I'm not getting that. I have the feeling that the picture is missing something, or the colors are off? As much as I've tweaked the hues and looked to real-life images for colors on grass and sky, I'm not satisfied with what I've got so far.
Might put this into scraps or delete it when I get the final image done, I'm not sure yet. :P
Thanks to anyone who replies! ^^
EDIT: Yup, scraps. :P

With the shadows I'm not sure if it says storybook or 'something might happen to her'?
Since the silhouettes don't really express much, I'm not sure whether to go 'aw, she's sleeping' or 'she's about to get kidnapped'? Overall I like the image, though.
I'm not sure if that's helpful or not.

Thanks for the reply! =D
Texturing isn't done yet; I should have mentioned that, so that's my bad! I haven't decided on whether or not I should stick with more real fur textures opposed to cell-shading. Hmm, it's a trade off between it looking pretty and more like a cut scene. XP
Shadows on the ground... Good point! Can't believe I overlooked that--Thanks for letting me know! =)
