I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that a kirin is a cross between a dragon and a horse.

Like Irbis said, Kirin (or Kiirin or Ki'Lin, etc. etc.), is a kind of unicorn. Originated in China I do believe, and so of course it's in Japanese legend too cuz I don't know if there's ANY critter that managed to make it into Chinese legend that doesn't also hang out in Japan. XD

I'm simply in love with the white/blue one. I would join your pet website just to have one. And I left Neopets in sheer disgust of its utter stupidity, so that's saying something. ^_^
