A bit of backstory: Cid is a Rattata who learns to be a thief and is part of a guild of thieves and hired killers. When he was born, Cid was abandoned by his parents and left in an alleyway. A cheetah by the name of Victor found Cid in the alleyway and took the child as his own. Victor didn't know why Cid's parents abandoned the baby, but the only thing he was able to find out about the Rattata was his name, Cid. Victor decided to raise Cid as his while he also handled his humid called Holo Fallen. A guild known for their thievery and murderous contracts, their work sometimes involved helping the government in secret or working with a private entity when they needed something stolen or to get rid of someone. Victor is known for the fact as being the guild master and a previous member of the world's best assassin organization Delta Prime. Due to this, Victor is a very skilled assassin and is considered at the peak of mortal limits as all members of Delta Prime are trained to this level.
Cid grows up among the guild, being raised by Victor who teaches him the ropes on how to survive and defend himself. Cid is quick to learn how to be a thief and pick up on people's behaviors. He has an eye for valuables and figuring out what might fetch a good price. As he grows up, his skills only get sharper. He officially becomes part of the guild at the age of 10, mainly to handle thievery work because he seems unsuspecting as a kid. Despite his age, he is clever and plans out things thoroughly. He shows a great deal of promise to Victor and tends to do handle smaller missions for the guild master. Among the guild members, Cid is considered one of five of their brightest and most skilled. Other than teaching Cid to be a guild member, Victor works with Cid to home-school him and keep his education on par. However, Victor realizes that Cid isn't going to fit in if he doesn't go to a proper school.
Cid is forced to enroll in school so he can learn to blend in with people and get a proper education. During this time, he meets a student by the name of Liam. An unusual snow leopard dragon hybrid approaches Cid several times to talk with and hang out with him. Despite Cid not wanting a friend, he finds the hybrid to be someone reliable and persistent. Even when Cid gets in trouble with some students, it's Liam who stands up for the Rattata and scares off the folks. While Cid could handle himself, he finds Liam being so willing to assist him as a reliable friend. Cid and Liam start hanging out with each other more regularly, even Cid starts to let his defenses down and introduce Liam to his adopted father. It doesn't take long for Liam to figure out what Cid and his adopted family is, but he promises both Cid and Victor he will not say a word about it. During their friendship, Cid finds out about Liam's magic abilities and how the hybrid can use them. He also discovers that Liam is a Crestview, a famous and rich person in the city. However, Liam never acts like one and prefers to not be treated differently and be treated like a normal guy. Something Cid respects and treats him as a normal person.
After high school is done, Cid starts aiming for college. He considers going into accounting as he finds working on numbers to be easy and fun for him. He handles the financial side of the guild alongside a friend named Justin, a Komodo dragon who assists with the accounting business. Justin is a good friend to Cid and they sometimes hang out together along with Liam from time to time. Justin is not a full member of the guild, his father however is. Justin tends to ask Cid what he wants to do beyond just being a member of the guild which for Cid he was unsure of. Cid puts a lot of his time and effort into the guild, but since spending time with Liam, he starts to question what he wants for himself. This question comes up again after Cid handles an assassination job for Victor, while Cid doesn't have an issue getting rid of the target, he questions if this is the life he wants going forward. He imagines how Liam lives a carefree life and seems happy with himself vs how Cid has to do his work in the shadows and keep his identity hidden. He brings up to Victor about him stepping out of the guild to pursue his path in life, something that Victor is quite proud to hear from Cid. Victor explains that he wants Cid to pursue a life he wants vs a life given to him, to that end he allows Cid to step away from the guild, but tells him he is always welcome back if he wants to go back to pursuing the guild as his life passion.
Right after college Cid and Liam start looking into jobs and what they can do with their degrees. What they didn't expect to find was a special antique shop with unique items and even more unique people. They come across Clive and his team working at Antique and Magicware Shop, a place that is under the new ownership of Clive. Both Liam and Cid talk with Clive and find out about how their jobs work and the adventures they embark on. When Cid brings up how they manage the costs and figure out the budgets, Clive and Bruce are not able to go over it well. To that, Cid can quickly explain a few things for the budget that helped them save money. Right on the spot, Clive asks Cid to work for them as an accountant while Bruce talks to Liam and discovers that Liam is an incredible artist and could help with design ideas and advertisement. After some discussion and consideration, both Liam and Cid decide to take a job working for Clive. Later on, Cid offers his services as a thief and someone who can fight well when they go on adventures. A valuable asset that Clive is happy for his experience and help. From that moment forward, both Cid and Liam started working at the shop and spending time with them. Cid still visits his adopted father and hangs out with him. He took an interest in urban exploration and checking out different sights.
