Dear Mom, dad and everyone at home

I hope this solarfax finds you well. It'll traverse the vast expense of space in no time, compared to the long trip we've endured to get to the academy : lightspeed indeed. By the time you can read this message, we'll still be resting there near Uwens, as they're giving us a few days to recuperate, and adapt to the new, much more luminous and warm environment. Not that Andral seems to need of that at all : as you won't be surprised to learn, our future rear admiral simply cannot wait for the classes to start, it seems; I did tell him that there will be ample time to wear his brand new cadet uniform – but you already know that he's deaf to such words. He also is among few of us who can't get enough not only of the much stronger sunlight, but also this strange old world, and when he's not parading around the academy and the nearby town, he's out there marveling at the insects and vegetal lifeforms so alien to us. I'm afraid I cannot say the same for myself, and I for my part have to take full advantage of the off time we're offered.

That is all for now. But as you can tell, they care about our well-being, so please don't worry : we'll be more than alright, and I reiterate my promise to keep a close eye on Andral for you, albeit from whatever short distance our different paces will allow.
