If they had gone with that design, the symbolism represented by the Xenomorphs would've taken a blow.

Alright, so... I couldn't help but look at this with my mind of an enjoyer of creatures that go bump in the night. I LOVE your rendition of it. A remake that makes the creature actually scary. But the original...

Short, stocky, with forarms that are designed like mantis'. Definate signs of ambush predators. But there isn't anything... well, nothing that would really make it pop out. Your angles and sharp edges made the creature far more agressive, something that would drop down, wrap an arm around the throat of a victim and pull them into an airduct.

If I was to make a film with your monster, I could do so much with it. Give it a gimick that could lure prey away, like the ability to mimic voices, or even worse, full on able to hold conversations. Imagine a voice of a dear friend coming from the walls telling you how they died to it as you are walking through the engines, only for the last thing you see is the creature with it's mouth tenticles framing it's fangs, making it's sadistic farce of a smile.

If you havent, you should really consider watching Mimic then. A fair amount of the plot revolves around this idea.

Goodness... Mimic... that is a blast from the past. I hadn't heard that movie in well over a decade...

A gem for its time, and surprisingly still holds up pretty well too. Del Toro just has a thing with the sticky, creepy stuff.

This makes me instantly think of how the original Predator/Yautja was also nothing like what we got, essentially looking like a giant shrimp/roach thing instead of the power-crab we know and love. Would be fun to see your take on the proto-Yautja this way too

Actually this WAS designed by him as well as several other designs, but the director didn't approve of them.

So he went to Giger's books and pointed at the one titled Necrinomicon which is what the current Xeno is based on.

So glad they went with the current design for the Xenos imo. Your take on the earlier design looks good though.

The thumbnail instantly stood out to me as to what I was seeing, and it made me glad. Love Ron Cobb's designs, even if he was more a tech than a creature guy.

And so in the end Giger made a fucking sexy Xenomorph, we'll always be sure that the dick in their mouths and the bag of balls they had was always a cool Breeding target
Just imagine what the new Alien could be like if it had this design. A good director and some horror, I'd like to go back a little bit to the beginning, to what was there before.
