Stick to your guns on this. I'm certain that right now he absolutely means to send some kind of payment, but it just doesn't ring true if he's unwilling to write a check, send a cashier's check, or something. There are other alternatives to paypal or credit cards.

It's business, it is nothing personal against him. And businesses have standards (like the gas station if I ask for a full talk that I fully intend to pay next week). If you remain consistent, you'll be far better off than if you change the rules for every person depending on their needs. You are an artist, not a charity or goodwill store.

The other payment method I'll accept are money orders. They're easy to get from your local post office or bank. If this is how you'd like to send me funds, let me know and I'll give you my address.

I start work whenever I receive payment. I don't have an urgent deadline for receiving funds, so I don't see why this is a problem? Sorry, but those are my terms with rare exceptions.
