"A few months ago, I came across this interesting animal. And what makes it interesting is the fact it looks like two animals in one.
What it is, is a unique animal that starts its life appearing as one animal and as it grows, it slowly takes on the appearance of another.

When it's born, it looks like a lizard, but over time it'll look more like a mouse or rat as it sheds its skin.
Another interesting fact is that it never fully sheds its skin, instead, it'll use it much like an outfit. It does have a mix of scales and fur.

The way it uses its former head much like a hoodie, which it can close to continue to appear like a lizard with its back fins sticking out.
It also looks like a rat thats being eaten due to how it looks like when it's open.
While it's never seen without its 'shed', I went ahead and sketched how it could look without it. (Which looks like a normal rat but retains its clawed reptilian feet.)

Finally, despite this unique animal, known info. It's not considered to be a hybrid."
