Just This One Time
She didn't regret becoming the wolf's friend, especially after all she'd risked for her...beating the ever-living hell out of one of Western Georgia's best athletes and son of one of the wealthier alumni after he'd abused the saluki had nearly gotten the wild dog expelled. Skye knew that Wielder had known full well what might happen to her when she threw that first punch, and yet she'd gone through with it...with a little help from the great brindled akita, Kajitora.
However, much had been whispered about the campus concerning her new friendship with the roguish wolf and her equally roguish friends. Wielder did nothing to hide who she was in any regard, including who she'd been with, regardless of gender. And in a small southern town, that led to rumors...
...and rumors about Skye and her...preference...had started flying through the social circles because of her growing closeness to the wolf as well as her friends...many of whom shared that quality that young students found most worthy of gossip. But Skye had learned through her abusive relationship with the handsome Arc that appearances were not important. It had been Wielder and her friends who had been there to pick up the pieces...even Skye's own parents had been much less than supportive.
Still, she didn't appreciate being labeled as something she wasn't, and she certainly didn't appreciate the stares and fake smiles she was collecting on each hurried walk between classes. Shikashiri had told her to ignore it...they'd all move on to something "juicier" in the Land of Drama in time...but, for a brand new Freshman, the little game of "telephone" concerning the gossip made her feel as though she had nothing short of a scarlet letter practically tattooed on her chest.
After passing by a former friend who had audibly remarked about how Skye was Wielder's "latest fling", the young saluki decided to find a way to shut their large mouths once and for all...
...and maybe she'd quiet some of the curious whispers and doubts in her own mind as well.
She found her by the picnic tables outside of the education building, talking with Kaji, Shika, and Deyna as she often did during lunch. Steeling her faltering resolve, she balled her fists and walked towards her friends, noticing how the white rims of the lupine ears had already twisted towards her.
"What's her problem?" asked Deyna as she flattened her large German Shepherd ears out to the sides of her tan face. "I thought you guys were getting along..."
"Yeah, me too," sighed Wielder, straightening up, preparing for the coming storm.
Kaji, smoking away as usual, offered her the half-burned Marlboro comically. "Want a ceremonial last cigarette before she marches you to the gallows?"
Wielder shot the larger dog a contentious glare before the slate gray saluki finally stood before her.
"What have I done now?" Though it was practically a bark, Skye heard the defeat in the other woman's voice, and she felt badly for it. It was almost enough to derail her plan...almost.
"Kiss me."
Kaji nearly swallowed her cigarette as Wielder's normally confident posture began to shake. "What?"
"I'm going to silence this crap once and for all," Skye explained, determination in each word. "Even you guys think you all know something I don't...like my life is some Lifetime movie about self-discovery through some hidden sexual orientation. I'm ready to prove everyone including YOU wrong." She leaned forward, stiff as a board, lips pursed. "Just get it over with...I WON'T enjoy it...you'll see." They'll ALL see.
The wolf hesitated. True, she'd found the saluki attractive and alluring. Then, she'd grown fond of her, then she'd learned to care about her, then she'd found herself having to close of certain parts of her mind and heart to the subject of Skye for her own benefit and the benefit of her new and unstable friendship with the sighthound. She'd done anything and everything she could not to seem pushy or even interested.
She'd never thought Skye would be the one to force the issue. Then, as she looked the chance before her in the eye, she found herself almost too unsure to take it. Especially knowing that it would more than likely lead to nothing other than awkward silence.
She thought she'd say "no"...she told herself she'd laugh it off in the kindest manner she could...but instead she found herself leaning forward, holding the soft cheek warmed with blush and nervousness in the palm of her hand, wondering what the lithe dog's pink lip gloss would taste like...
So, it's been a while since I did anything of Wielder and Skye, and a good number of people have expressed interest in seeing more of them...and I admit to missing drawing these two together. Plus, there's just not enough ROMANTIC lesbian art here on FA.
Done with copic markers, micron inks, and white gel pen on sketchbook paper. Digital editing done badly in Photoshop.

Agreed.
A sample of the kind of story work that I'm capable of:
//Jacob ran through a forest on a distant planet. The thrill of the hunt ran through his blood as he ran down his prey. No, not his prey, but his wife. The one who changed his world and made him who and what he was meant to be in the beginning: A Changer. His legs and paws absorbing the numerous impacts with the ground. He felt at home on Kaytone, his home world.//
This is Jacob's life after he ended the war on Kaytone, the world he now lives on.
Jacob is also my name.

Romantic lesbian art is one of my favorite themes to see here ^_^ And I gotta say, with that hair and those glasses and the earring... Wielder looks absolutely gorgeous in these piece.
Lovely story, too. Interesting how their personalities and histories clash and connect at the same time.

Oh yes, if I ever quit doing work of these two, dakinkypimpwolfie would personally hand me my ass. Lol, of course, I like the couple, so she doesn't have to torture me TOO much to get me to draw them when I forget to for a while.
And yes, a certain purple haired wolf needs attention.

I always love reading your Skye and Wielder stories! They're my favorite couple and I love seeing tastefully done Lesbian art and stories. This makes me want to work on a little project with Jackie and Andrea. They're my favorite character pair after Blackie and Deyna of course.
Excuse me, I think I just melted into goo all over my keyboard.
This is nothing short of precious. It's exactly what I like to see in lesbian relationships between characters--tenderness, awkardness, the struggle with sexuality. I missed seeing greyscale work from you as well! I just love these two together, and you really draw some of the most romantic lesbian moments. This is, a little bit, how my inner struggle with my own sexuality was, and how I struggle still today when I find myself attracted to a lovely lady when I'm already in a heterosexual relationship. This really resonated with me.
Sorry to kind of pour my life onto this, but this piece really has meaning for me. I love their faces, there's a lot of deep-seated emotion behind these two. Thank you for sharing this! <3

Awwww, thanks so much!
I need to rework the Skye and Wielder story a bit, but it really is about finding that path together for the both of them. Wielder's already fairly comfortable with the sexuality part of it, but it's the actual relationship part she struggles with. Skye...well, she has to learn a bit of both since she's pretty much been forced to be that perfect young lady all her life by strict parents. I'm glad you like my lesbian artwork. Several of my best friends are gay, and I really respect them for all they have to go through just to be together. I know how you feel about being attracted to members of the same sex while in a heterosexual relationship too. Thankfully, my husband and I are comfortable enough to talk to each other about such things (though we are still monogamous). But trust and honesty go hand in hand, in my opinion.
Lol, don't worry! I'm glad when my work brings out a positive response in someone and when it means something to them. Art should be about telling a story and making someone feel something. I'm glad this piece did that for you. Honored it did, even!

Here, here!
It seems like a possibility with all the story arcs you have going on.
Imagine a portfolio for the Ragnarok series, with the art on one page, and the story you wrote for it on the other side. Regardless of time lapses, I bet people would pay for that.
I can only imagine the fan frenzy if you were to make a portfolio out of even a few of your Star Wars pieces... Curse Lucas and his copyrights....

I really really want to start doing a weekly Star Wars comic page so that I can get in the practice where comics and graphic novel type work are concerned. It'd probably be the best way to really tell Jedi Wielder's story anyway.
The Okari/Ragnarok series (and Okari's story pre-Ragnarok) I think would really make a good graphic novel, and I might try to make something of it once I get more research done and get more time to work seriously on personal projects. I'm honored that you'd be interested!

Thanks so much, girl! I really appreciate it. I really should try to quit jumping between so many stories and actually concentrate on one of them and see if I could get something like a graphic novel or a comic series done. I really want to do a weekly Star Wars page once I get my commissions and trades narrowed down a bit further...I think it would be really good practice.
*stares, pushes glasses up*
Dang.
The posture and expression you give each character really brings out their emotions, really defines them.
It speaks to your dedication.
I laughed at Wielder's comment to Skye in the second small panel. She always has those witty one-liners.
I'm glad to see you brought these two back to center stage for a little while, and I'm especially glad to learn a bit more about the circumstances surrounding their friendship (and Wielder's trouble with the school). It's true that when the going gets tough, you find out who your friends really are.
Your comics always tell such complex stories that you almost don't need the "extra" story to go with them, but adding those little snippets adds a new dimension to the work (and helps to fill in all the little things the comic doesn't have space to cover).
Once again, you continue to amaze and impress.
Well done!

Awww, thanks so much! Getting the posture and everything in that last panel was hell. Anthros kissing is just always a hard thing to work with, but I'm a romantic girl, so it's something that I'm driven to draw. Pfffft.
Wielder's nothing without her sense of humor. It's something she hides behind pretty well in almost everything I do concerning her.
Oh yes. That is definitely when you find out who your real friends are, and Skye has to learn the hard way that her real friends are the ones her supposed friends talk badly about. Our favorite saluki will be burning a fair number of old bridges because of such bigotry.

I've never done much with Copics, but I've got all three sets of gray shades that Prisma makes, and it's been a bit since I pulled them out. *chuckles* And I loves me some porns, but I'm still a girl even with short hair and next to no tits, and I think most of us crave the romantic stuff on some level. I know I do too.
