St. Jiub, blessed be his name
THE BACKHORDE UPDATE
part of the catchup from aryion.
honestly one of my favorite paintings I've ever done. not my usual stuff youre used to here, sure, but this one was a bit of an adventure in making. was using krita for the first time and had been doing autodrawing practice projects in it. ended up picking out a face from the mess and just... well, I went nuts with some of the paint brushes cleaning up the face and building this up.
its an illustration of one of my favorite bits of lore post-morrowind for the elder scrolls. st. jiub, the hero of vvardenfel who, by his blade and tireless work, drove the damnable cliff racer to extinction.

if memory serves, the canonization was done post-humorously to jiub by the tribunal clergy, but I could be wrong. vivec sorta scuttles away after the nerevarine comes calling and no one has any clue where the guy went.
alamalexia and sotha are, of course, dead as fuck at the time too so... yee. tribunal cloth are the only officiators left. the redoran are still doggedly loyal to the temple to the end, even if the tribunal were shown to be bullshit and only divine by drawing from the doom drum by your actions as the nerevarine, so one has to assume thats how the story got spread. does also make sense that a martial saint would be the thing canonized post the temples fall-- the aforementioned house being the most militant..
anyways. cheers for good feels on a comment on my favorite piece :)
