El-ahrairah whispers a plan to Rabscuttle about stealing the King's prize lettuce and in doing so, win a bet with Prince Rainbow and free his people from the marshes they were banished to.

Forced by enemies to live along with his people in the marshes of Kelfazin, El-ahrairah concocted a plan to steal King Darzin's lettuce. The plan was to have the lettuce delivered to the marshes by order of the King himself! Frith's messenger, Prince Rainbow on hearing of it said that if he could pull off such a heist he would let his people out of the marshes to multiply everywhere. The plan would involve infiltrating the palace food stores to poison a few heads of lettuce at the top and once the King and his court fell ill, El-ahrairah, dressed as a traveling doctor, would tell the King that the whole crop was bad and should be disposed of in the marshes. The plan worked and a stunned Prince Rainbow, shocked that El-ahrairah had the lettuces delivered after all let the rabbits free and blessed them with the cunning and trickery to make it into any vegetable garden in the world.
