Also, with this picture in mind, suddenly the concept of "curled shoes" make so much more sense! They're like, robe-traps for the bottom of your robes so they don't go flying everywhere!

I started to think the exact same thing while I was drawing and imagining how the character would move (like, would he lift up his skirt to walk up stairs?), I think I'll give it a try then, I have a pair of curly shoes and a way too long skirt.

it's a sarong, one of the few accepted man-skirts. Though that didn't really influence my decision, I just thought it would be practical as one.

That's a really cool character design, pretty much because it's so comparatively minimalist. He must be an ascetic mage. THe coloring's subtle, too. Nice work!
