A normal gym meeting turns into a casual match between two kangaroo fighters. Will they both meet again?

Kangaroo Boxing

With his powerful limbs, Onyx smashes his laced up hands against the bag before him, directing each powerful blow into the equipment in front of him. With each blow smashing into the bag in front of him, Onyx is barely breaking a sweat, but his arms are beginning to burn; the kangaroo is already getting his workout on just by this simple exercise.

Barely winded and not even exhausted, the kangaroo continues his barrage against the punching bag, focused solely on the equipment before him. The kangaroo is so focused on his workout, he isn't paying attention to what's around him.

Marching into the gym is another kangaroo, a muscular male red kangaroo with a confident stride in his walk. With a charcoal tank top draped along his right shoulder, the red kangaroo hums to himself while sliding into the gym.

Onyx, meanwhile, is still going at it, smashing his fists into the bag before him. The gray kangaroo doesn't even notice the new arrival until he hears someone addressing him directly. “Excuse me, mind if I join you??”

“Eh?” Turning to face the red kangaroo, Onyx pauses his workout to focus on the red kangaroo before him where he explains, “There's only room for one a t this thing unless you want to hold it and I wallop it. Unless you have a mat, you can join me.”

“Thanks. I’ll be with you in a sec!” Onyx watches the red kangaroo leave and he resumes his swinging workout, adding in a few kicks to the mix. When the red kangaroo comes back, he is now completely shirtless, save for a pair of dark green boxing trunks and matching handwraps.

Onyx is sitting on a bench nearby to take a brief break, and with the red kangaroo beside him, the two begin chatting with each other for a while. The conversation soon starts off with the two introducing themselves to each other, with Onyx learning that the red kangaroo, Martyn, is an Australian-born American. It took some explaining on Martyn’s part where Onyx understands the picture. But Onyx fully understands after letting the information sink in.

In a complimentary way, Onyx admits, “I’m Australian myself, but you're an American, though? That is very rare! You're an impressive guy, I can see that in you!”

“Ah, thanks.” The compliment and flattery makes Martyn blush, yet the natural coloring returns to his face seconds later. The kangaroo later settles down when he notices Onyx’s boxing attire - all-black shorts with a white under-stripe. In contrast, Martyn's attire is completely dark green. Onyx also notices Martyn's attire and he compliments the red kangaroo out of admiration, “You have a really nice outfit yourself! Looks good on you!”

Onyx giggles, “Thank you, kind sir! Trying to match is always my specialty! Same with yours too, Martyn!”

Martyn eventually comments, “So you’re into boxing? I am too! There aren't too many kangaroos around here in the United States who are into boxing.”

Onyx just shrugs, “Eh, you’d be amazed. Anywho, are you suggesting we hold a practice match?”

Martyn nods his head, “Uh-huh! I would mind seeing what you can do in the ring.”

“Yeah, you too Martyn! You look like a professional boxer yourself!” Onyx agreed with a giggle.

“Thank you.” Martyn blushed. “Care for a practice bout?”

“I would love that!” Onyx is more than gleeful at the chance for a practice session with another boxing kangaroo; this he doesn't turn down.

Standing inside of a makeshift practice arena, Onyx is pretty pumped to face a professional boxing kangaroo in a sparring session. The black kangaroo squeaks, “Aw yeah! This is gonna rock! I can't wait to see what you can do, Martyn!”

The two kangaroos later knock gloves together and face each other, asserting different stances with Onyx belting out, “Ready when you are, Martyn!”

The two kangaroos begin circling each other slowly, matching each other's movements. Onyx's excitement contrasts Martyn's focus, leaving the two on opposite sides of the arena. Suddenly, Martyn charges in, swinging, forcing Onyx on the defensive.

After evading a series of swings from the red kangaroo, Onyx attempts a counterattack by launching a powerful left hook at the red kangaroo. While this catches Martyn completely off-guard, it interrupts his flow in the fight, leaving him stunned.

While Martyn wipes his face, Onyx wallops the red kangaroo in the stomach with a powerful left cross, leaving him coughing and clutching his stomach. The black kangaroo follows this up with a powerful right hook to the face and then an uppercut to the chin before dishing out several more blows to Martyn’s stomach.

Martyn is barely able to hold his own against the black kangaroo, but after getting rocked by another powerful hook to the face, the red kangaroo drops to the canvas, his stomach screaming in pain. Even Onyx is still in tunnel vision mode upon downing Martyn.

When Onyx's tunnel vision subsides, he comes to Martyn’s aid, surprise fully registering on his face. “Holy crap, I can't believe it! I downed a pro on my first try!”

“Onyx, I’m not a pro - I don't even consider myself an amateur. I would like to work on my boxing more.” After being hoisted by the black kangaroo, the two marsupials later leave the arena while celebrating Onyx's win.
