Hello, hello it's Volos here and by kami it's good to be back!

Apologies in advance for the long hiatus but boy do I have something special in store for you. Some of you have probably seen her before she left while others may have not, however Volos here has your back. Back in April 2024 for all those in the northern hemisphere a major astral event could be seen as she reached her closest point to the sun. For those who weren't near any major sources of light pollution during this time would have been able to see a rare opportunity that most individuals would never get again in the night sky as a bright light shining distinctive green or blue glows streaked across it. For those in the southern hemisphere you would not get a chance to see her until when she was no longer visible in the northern hemisphere of our planet and had neared her closest point to Earth in the month of June before saying goodbye and leaving down her path away from our solar system. This significant astral event that appeared was none other than "The Mother of Dragon's comet" (12P/Pons-Brooks), a Halley-type comet that was so named such after the annual Draconid meteor shower that occurs every 29th of November to the 13th of December as this particular comet is believed to be the source of this yearly phenomenon. To put her scale in perspective this comet's nucleus alone is estimated to be 30 kilometers or roughly the size of a city with her overall size reaching several hundred thousand kilometers in diameter with a recorded 500,000 kilometers (310,000 miles) while her tail alone can extend much farther, sometimes millions of kilometers into space. Of course, her overall size largely depends on her proximity to our sun as well as other factors like solar wind and the comet's activity level. Being cryovolcanic the comet's surface erupts when heat from the sun causes liquid and gasses to combust, similar to a frozen Coke can. These eruptions can create a second tail that resembles horns, which earned the comet's original name "devil comet".

You may be saying to yourself, what's with the astrology lesson Volos and why are you making such a big deal about it?! The answer is quite simple, influenced by Jupiter's gravitational force The Mother of Dragons only makes an appearance roughly every 71.3 years and this time she just so happened to appear during the year of the dragon no less. Good news to all the dragon's out there and even those out there with a little bit of dragon in them. It was after having witnessed her magnificent beauty back in April with my own eyes and upon surprisingly learning there were no characters I could find made based on this comet that I begun working on portraying what she might look like if the comet was a dragon that existed amongst all us furries and scalies. I put everything I had into her design trying to fit as many features as I could that all dragon's have without compromising her beauty and pushed my abilities as an artist to their extent until anything else was beyond my abilities to do at this point in time. So it is with great pride that I dedicate this piece, portraying the character Ny'qhlara The Mother of all Dragons, to all of you whom visit my gallery and especially to everyone who left me all those faves or added me to their watch list during my absence from FA. **Lore**

Ny'qhlara Drak'vholis Aeth'rhael (Nih-KLaH-rah * DRAHK-voh-liss * AY-thray-el) The Mother of all Dragons. A name that is almost unutterable by mortal tongues whose very nature when spoken evokes a dark celestial nature, embodies the essence of motherhood over dragon kind, and has ties to the divine cosmic forces that surround us. Ny'qhlara is a being so old that she transcends understanding and her existence goes beyond that of any recorded history. This ancient being of incomprehensible power and unfathomable might whose very presence alone evokes a sense of awe and otherworldly mystique as equally as it conjures fear inside the hearts of many of those who stand before her let alone sees her, has a tale that begins like many. Having existed since the beginning of time around the era where the elder gods ruled over the infinite void that we would eventually call our universe, it is unknown whether she came into being when the birth of the first stars shined their light upon the darkness or if she existed long before that during an era unconceivable among the minds of mere mortals where the concepts of space and time were inconsequential, even Ny'qhlara has never mentioned if she existed before the Universe as we know it was even a thing. When the reign of the old gods finally came to an end with the ushering in of the age of the new gods Ny'qhlara still remained having stayed completely out from the conflict that overthrew the old gods. Even as the heralding of change in the cosmic forces inside eternity took place coinciding with the formation of the Universe, Ny'qhlara continued her stance of neutrality instead opting to simply observe as she had done before but with this time now watching the cosmos that now surrounded her take shape. Having bore witness to it all a sense of curiosity grew inside Ny'qhlara over time and so she set forth exploring the Universe that the new gods created.

Ny'qhlara traveled long and far watching with great interest the new wonders that were unfolding especially so in what sprang forth when life itself was breathed into the fabric of the universe. Among the numerous planets that formed arose new forms of life in all different shapes and sizes each unique to their respective home world. As time continued to pass simply observing these lifeforms was not enough to satisfy the innate curiosity that had come to take over Ny'qhlara and thus was the start of when she would interact with the many lifeforms on every planet she visited. Being an immortal being Ny'qhlara could witness life evolve and the changes that took place over time but as the very same clock ticked away the seeds of new feelings had gradually been planted in Ny'qhlara's heart. With every world she visited Ny'qhlara was exposed to newer evolving concepts that were completely foreign to this divine cosmic being as she bore witness to the history being written in front of her from the greatest of triumphs and most joyful of events to even the most tragic and evil things that were brought along with rise of civilization. These experiences shaped Ny'qhlara as she came to enjoy the beauty she saw in life along with her newfound sense of happiness, wonder, and love this divine dragoness now felt from the bonds she had formed. Although Ny'qhlara had these emotions awakening within her, unfortunately the emotions of mortals also caused a sense of sadness to grow underneath her happy exterior one brought about from realizing just how lonely she really was as she was the only one of her kind.

It is said that it is because of the loneliness she felt being the only one of her kind that dragons exist today while others say that it did not happen until after the events of The Great Purge, either way Ny'qhlara would afterwards come to be known as The Mother of all Dragons. It was because she took it upon herself to take up the mantle of becoming the progenitor to all of dragon kind that dragons exist in the universe at all. The thousands of millions of light particles you see flowing off her body as she soars through space, every particle you see is said to be a new dragon being born into existence. They follow Ny'qhlara throughout the universe as she travels from world to world, galaxy to galaxy, until they find a planet they wish to settle. Once per year for 15 days long it is said that by watching that particular meteor shower you can tell how many dragons or those with dragon heritage will be born the coming year on that world. You may ask well such and such dragon looks nothing like Ny'qhlara or claim that they are not of the same species and that is where you would be wrong. Unlike her descendants that would follow after the first generation of dragons born directly from Ny'qhlara, the first generation was given along with their free will the ability to choose and adapt what traits they wanted to survive in their environment hence why today you see dragons of all different shapes and sizes because of course she would want to give her offspring the best chance at life and to live it how they want despite refuted claims otherwise. What is commonly agreed upon though is that what happened during The Great Purge is what helped shape Ny'qhlara into the kind and benevolent dragoness that showers all her children with motherly love and affection.

**Facts**

As she is on an ever going mission to spread and preserve dragon kind Ny'qhlara is always on the move but often returns back at different times to previously visited worlds just to spend time with her children and any descendants she has there. She is not the type that forces you to come see her when she stops by for a visit but instead respects the life she has given to all of dragon kind and will spend time with those choose of their own accord to she her. Although she will let any of her children do just about anything with her and will go along with it that does not mean she will not give her motherly guidance and shower her comforting loving aura in the process. Like any good mother she may scold any of her misbehaving children if she perceives them doing something dangerous that will do them or any other dragon harm. This scolding will then be followed up by her suggesting an alternative to what was being done and those being scolded cannot help but to follow her. Ny'qhlara may grant her children and descendants free will but the only time though that it will be close to being taken away is when she observes any infighting as she hates seeing her children fight and kill each other especially in her presence with only able to do so when outside her sphere of influence. It is this calming effect she has that many welcomes her visit especially during times of war or unrest. Not only is she able to force a truce Ny'qhlara can even get the most evil and darkest of hearts to show another side of themselves from any who share her blood. Even dragons with a heart of stone or complete lack of empathy can fall for her motherly charm as it is so powerful in fact that she can make one's innocent heartbeat again or for the very first time. Meaning that even from an outward perspective they may say they don't agree with anything Ny'qhlara says or may even still appear to be acting like their normal selves but on the inside their heart and soul have already been swayed. Does this mean Ny'qhlara can permanently sway them on to the side of good, that answer is both a yes and a no. Although she can exert her influence to make such a change happen instead Ny'qhlara chooses not to as she does not wish to take away any of her childrens freewill or make such drastic changes. Those afflicted by such a change are more likely to from then on for as long as Ny'qhlara stays around dedicate their future actions to Ny'qhlara and seek not to displease her. This does not in any sort of way indicate Ny'qhlara would let any dragon or those who shares her blood kill one another or inflict harm, no far from it, as said before she can through sheer power alone force a peace while she is there. If any dragon or anyone who shares her blood so happens to die while she is visiting Ny'qhlara will resurrect them regardless of how good or bad they are for she loves all her childeren equally. It is even said that she will grant one wish or request that she finds agreeable to her kin that meet her for the first time.
