Igori and Fake Spectreman were two threats Spectreman and his allies had to face Episodes 50 and 51 of the Spectreman Series: Smash Alien Igori and Riddle of the Cobalt Monster.
Appearance and Abilities
Igori was one the few Kaiju of Alien Origin who was brought by a faction in alliance with Dr. Gori, the Alien Igori. The Monster was a bipedal dragon like beast, with arms and large hands, sporting a tail; its body seems to have the texture of Rock to it, with a large head with blade like ears. The Beast held no abilities of its own besides Super Strength, however, when infuse with Cobalt, the creature becomes a powerful bomb capable of wiping Human life on Earth. The Monster was red/sliver/brown in color scheme.
The Duplicate Spectreman resembles Spectreman in looks, holding the same style of melee combat, techniques and arsenal. The major difference with it was it was a bit weaker to the original, its Belt was golden in color and was a Giant Robot rather than a size interchangeable Cyborg as the real deal. Interestingly, the Duplicate Costume was the initial costume for the hero seeing in much of the series and was last used in the Moonthunder story line, Eps.34 and 35, as the old Spectreman did had a belt, while the new one, which would be use for the rest of the series, lacked this garment.
History
A boy (Stuart) finds a rock and shows it to his father, who identifies it as Cobalt, immediately seeing the value in it, but the tranquility of the night is interrupted by the projectiles falling from the Sky. The Incident come to the attention of the Pollution Squad and Chief Kurata send the team to the village to investigate, specially due to signs of Radiation. On their way the group immediately loses radio contact with Kurata, but the G-Men suddenly pick up a distress signal and head to the town where they soon come to find it largely abandon, except for the Children playing in the streets and some adults acting strangely.
John splits from the team to investigate and talks to some kids, but soon these reveal to be mysterious individuals in a black suit with cat ears (the Igori Aliens) and attacks him; meanwhile, George and Otto search for John, but not without getting a warning by Arthur on the suspicious behavior from the residents, staring at the G-Men; The two reach a mine in their search and come under attack by the Igori, taking cover in a junkyard, they repel them with their laser guns, just as John and a Boy meet up with Arthur and Kim, but soon they hear a voice of unknown origin, identifying the Boy as an enlisted Soldier in Alliance with Dr. Gori, using the Cobalt in the area to transfer their mind control waves on their victims. The Boy transform and attack them, but soon is taken out by after Otto and George show up and then take care of John and zap him back to conscious with Car's battery.
And, yes, it seem a Child was killed in this sequence. That caught me a bit off guard.
Soon the group are surrounded by Trucks and are block at every corner, but soon meet the boy from the Radio Signal, Stuart; while one part of the team keeps the truckers distracted, the rest meet up with Stuart who explains everything to them, as the strange happenings began right after the strange light show nights ago, and see his parents in a trance with the Cobalt in hand. While John and Otto continue their game with the trucks, George jumps onto a couple of them, but in his fight, his right arm is hurt after falling. The team are able to lose the craze attackers and make their escape from the town with Stuart and the Cobalt (which by the way, is STATE to be radioactive and yet they are handling it without protection).
However they are stop by the Kaiju Igori who destroys the Bridge, the monster then marches to the mines under command of its masters to collect the Cobalt; George tries but fails, to transform into Spectreman, due to his broken arm; the G-Men try to stop it to no effect, though blind it briefly, while Otto tries to contact the outside to no avail. Just as all seem lost, to the glad of all (and shock of George) "Spectreman" appears and battles Igori; the Cyborg gives the Alien Kaiju a smack down and tosses it into a lake where is sinks to its death and Spectreman leaves. The group celebrates, but George, knowing the truth of the situation, concludes this is Gori's doing.
The team returns to town, with the resident free of the Igori control (and George's arm mysteriously heal) and "Spectreman" flying by. Stuart returns home to see his parent okay as well. Afterwards, many come to realize the mine is now underwater, but concern of the threat posse by the Igori Alien and the fact the body of the Monster hasn't been found yet. George expresses this may be a ploy by the Aliens for their larger goals, and Kurata agrees with him.
Back in the Mining Town, Spectreman reappears and spins in the sky, putting the resident into a trance, allowing the Aliens to take control of the people who walks towards the abandon mine, though Stuart's recorder is left running. In the Pollution Control HQ, the G-Men get a phone call from the Igori who warn them of what's in stored for them, and soon are teleported to the mining Town and come under attack by Igori Soldiers; after a prolong gun battle with the Igori, the G-Men are able to fend off the attack, and George finds the recording, finding out what happened to the townsfolk. Kurata receives one more call from the Igori Alien warning the lives of the Residents (now hostages) are in their hands if their demands aren't met, demanding their surrender, though George informs Kurata of their location. With their leverage gone, The Igori Soldiers retreat and the Kaiju Igori re-emerges, now transform into a Cobalt Bomb, with enough power to bring about the Apocalypse.
As the team dispatch to stop the Monster, "Spectreman" appears but begins to cause destruction to the Town, but Gori's moment of triumph is short live when the Real Spectreman appears and battles his doppelganger to the surprise of the G-Men. The two look a likes battle with the same abilities, leaving it in a dual with Spectre Cutters; The Real hero is able to overpower and wound his fake, who tries to escape, but Spectreman is able to shut it down with Spectre Flash, taking it out of the count and takes off and catches up to Igori to finish it off.
Spectreman kicks the hell out of Igori, able to knock it down and presumably killing it, but Spectreman receives damage himself (I take this is part of the American cut, but it is not shown how it is wounded, but he was smoking for some reason). He tells his human allies to defuse the bomb inside the Monster's head; while some of the G-Men take on the Igori Soldiers, Kim and John go into the monster and succeed in defusing the Bomb on time, saving the world from destruction. Afterwards, the Aliens seem to return the Cobalt, release the People and apparently leave Earth, with the G-Men glad to see Stuart and his family alive and well.

One thing I find interesting is just how the real Spectreman was able to easily, almost laughably, defeat his doppelganger. In most Toku series, and super hero media for that matter, the fake is normally AT LEAST as strong as the original, hence the threat they pose. Here, Spectreman throws his double around like a ragdoll, even wounding him, before blasting him out of the sky. It was almost kind of funny.
