Lana loved the sea; the sound of waves, the blankets of salt water, the thrill of the unknown. When entering college at the age of 22 she abused the hell out of research grants for 'research' into her biologist degree. Truth be know, she just wanted an excuse to be in the water.
Boy did she ever get her wish after finding that old chest at the bottom of the sea floor one expedition. Only later would she find out it was a lost cache of magical items belonging to a forgetful luminari mage. Most of it was harmlessly corroded, save for a particular locket whos magic made it still gleam like new after decades in salt water. Soon as Lana snapped that open she got a rather high jolt of magic fused into her body and...let's just say the luminari population went up by one that day. And now Lana can enjoy the sea in wonderful new ways she never thought possible. ;3
My second of two macro characters I've designed recently. Lana is a were-luminari (race of aquatics created by
lunarkeys) that has been infused with an unstable growth charm. She has to assume luminari form once a day to relieve the excess build up, or else it'll make her an even bigger fishy when she eventually does transform.
Luckily she's run across other luminari above and below sea level kind enough to teach her magic usage. She can even make other things grow if given a proper motivation. X3

And Desmond, it's still a rare and wonderful honor to have inspired you with the species! Kinda funny how I remember telling people 'Naw, it's just a cute idea for some fishpeople I had in the back of my head. Won't really catch on.' Surprise for me! The choice of skin tone with that hair color makes for awesome contrast, the blush is adorable, the form is delightful, and the background is excellent.
Here's to hoping that Lana has many more exciting adventures. I'll definitely look forward to reading (and watching) them happen!
