Coming in behind the Vulcan Space Bombers http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5797266 are the fast strike craft. Larger and heavier than the Vulcans their main weapon is a forward firing rail gun. Capable of firing fast bursts their hardened armor-piercing penetrators were designed to punch through armor damage the interiors of enemy ships once the enemies shields were disrupted or compromised. Once their ammunition was spent they would also break off and go screaming back to the protection of their own fleet defenses.
Now this craft is not intended to operate in an atmosphere so you might ask. "Why make it streamline?" Answer because it looks cool. This is space opera not Apollo 13. Also I wanted each of the space craft to have a distinctive design so they were easily recognizable to the viewer.

Hmm, looks quite attractive. I'm assuming the ammo tank is on the centerline with the gun while the coolant tank is to one side. Personally, just for both visual and center of gravity balance purposes, I'd go for two coolant tanks, one on each side; this also give sthe ammo tank a bit more protection from most angles.
Personally, I really like the "Hammerhead" design, and I feel this machine would look particularly "Wicked" in a dark olive drab overall paint job, but I wonder about that railgun weapon. I can't help but be reminded of some of the models I've seen in past issues of SF 3D, a Hobby Club magazine off shoot from Japan.
