Iris has been shy and timid for most of her life. Despite the fact that she's a nice, funny, and smart young woman, she's afraid to open up and be seen by others and always hesitates to interact out of fear of rejection. Deep down however, she YEARNS to be seen and recognized for who she is within and not who she has shown others on the surface. But due to her nature, she's always buried her nose in a book to avoid attention and focused on her studies. This would all change when she enrolled at Violet Beacon College for her nursing course, it was there that she would meet local delinquent, Blaire Larose. Blaire saved her from some bullies and Iris became one of the first friends Blaire had gotten in a long time. Granted, the tigress herself was guarded and a bit blunt as well as coarse, but Iris could tell she had a good heart though she was too nervous to talk to her. But when she witnessed Blaire become a Magical Girl and save the campus from a Dark-Star Kingdom monster attack, Iris was drawn to her courage out of awe and appreciation. When one of the 'Witches 13' the Dark-Star Kingdom's elite attacked Blaire, Iris prayed for help and Petalion's fellow Contractor Starkitten appeared to her and offered her to contract. Iris, wanting to help the young woman who saved her, contracted and helped Blaire repel the enemy. Since then, the two were thick as thieves, Blaire respecting Iris for her bravery and Iris wanting to be a good friend to the lonely tigress.

Iris's 'Magical Raiment' and Magical Ability is a manifestation of her inner aspects (like all Magical Girls), her need for wanting to stand out and show the world her kindness and exuberance, manifested in an Idol like appearance, even her hair gains pink highlights. Her wand manifested as a star-microphone from which she can cast her spells, of which she shows great affinity to light & sound magic. Her Magical Ability is known as 'Stellar Singer;' Her voice specifically her singing, can bolster and strengthen and heal those she considers friends and BLAST those who are her enemies. Like all Magical Girls, her body's natural attributes are magically augmented to superhuman levels to allow for combat and resistance. In her civilian guise, by holding a keychain version of her star-mic aloft and saying the phrase, "Shining Star magic, Make-Up!” is she able to transform. (Blaire is annoyed that her phrase sounds simpler and far less 'stupid' than hers). Also, unknown to some, she's a star at karaoke and loves it as a hobby.
