It's the awkward writing thing where you have a character who's clearly really strong/fast/smart and you have to always take that account and when you slip up you get stuff like this. Like in a movie I watched recently there was an android who was commonly used to unlock doors because of a function he had with the equipment, in a situation where they needed to get out of a room really badly he couldn't unlock the door the normal way, but the writers forgot that he's strong enough to just lift or even bust up the door.
