Mythic Beast Ranger: Hedgehog Blue
And now, another ranger. Yese, I know about the joke it was almost like it was intentional, but I like it regardlss. Anyways, behold, Michael Galanis, Th Mythic Beast Blue ranger.
Michael's story is a simple one really, and just like him happened in the blink of an eye.
One day, while out and about on vacation down in Santorini, enjoying the sun and the sea, Michael noticed something odd. A shimmer, a light, a sparkle in the water, right near his feet. Curious, he reached down to pick up and see what it was, and was surprised to see what was a pure blue crystal, about the size of this thumb. It looked natural, no cut lines or any real professional shaping to it, though he still gave a look around the beach to see if there was anyone looking frantically for anything.
Seeing that there wasn't, he slipped it back into his pants pocket, and continued his walking along the coast, keeping an eye and ear out in case anyone did come forwards or start yelling about missing a gemstone, but as the hours ticked by, the sun set and some evening storm clouds rolled in, he decided that nobody had really lost this, and he was free to keep it. He made a mental note to look around for an apraiser or a jewelers in the morning.
But with a storm starting to brew, he decided it best to get back to the hotel, especially as the first rain droplets began to fall.
His journey through the streets wouldn't last very long, however, as as the storm picked up, a bolt of lightning would strike a rod very near to where Michael was...but it didn't stop. Or rather, it did. Because everything did. As the bolt struck the rod, it was as though time stood still around Michael, but he could still move. He could cup his hand and move it up through the raindrops frozen in fall and collect the water in his palm, but if he tilted his hand over it would simply become a floating puddle.
Incredibly confused, Michael continued walking, dodging a bit reflexively through the raindrops, just hoping that if he could get back to the hotel room this would stop and go back to normal, but of course it wouldn't be that easy.
As he walked, eventually he'd come across another scene. A young girl, a feline, standing underneath a stone overhang, or what had once been a stone overhang. It was crumbling, broken into partial bits, and falling down towards her, though from Michaels perspective the rocks were still thankfully frozen in midair. The girl didn't even fully realize that the roof was collapsing yet, having not fully finished turning her had upwards to look towards it.
Acting on instinct, Michael started over towards her, intending to move her out of the way, but stopped himself before he moved her, his mind thinking about the risks of what might happen when she stops given how fast he presumes that he's moving at. So he stands for a few moments of his time, before finally a solution presents itself to him, and he reaches up and grabs one of the falling stones. Much to his surprise, and delight, it felt almost weightless in his hands. He almost considers tossing it away, but quickly decides against it as that just makes it someone elses problem, so instead he takes the pieces of the falling overhang and set them down nearby, saving the young feline from, if not certain death, then a certain concussion.
Still though, time seemed frozen to him even after this, so after giving another look around to see if there was anything else that was breaking from the violence of the storm. In doing so, he saw something in the distance, up the hillside and just barely visible in the dim light. A large shape of what looked to be a horned figure, though when he blinked it disappeared, so Michael chocked it up to his mind playing tricks on him given the incredibly strange situation he was in.
Wasn't until nearly five minutes later that, when he was almost to the front door of his hotel that he finally noticed, thanks to the reflective surface of the glass of the doors, that his back pocket was glowing. He reached back into it, and when he pulled the crystal out of his pocket, a sudden flash of blue light consumed his entire field of view, and when it faded, he could immediately tell his wasn't in Greece anymore; instead finding himself in what looked to be both an incredibly old and also incredibly well maintained and futuristic blacksmith shop.
"Was wondering when that one would be found. Hope it wasn't too disorienting for ya."
