Deedee had been hired to do three things: break into the target's computer systems, steal much of their data, and give them an ultimatum.
Breaking into the computer had been almost depressingly easy. The people who controlled the purse strings here had obviously been too cheap to do a proper job of securing the computer, or even of hiring anybody who knew what they were doing, and she pretty much owned the computer system to the point that they'd have to do a complete system wipe and re-install to get her out now, and even that wouldn't be a guarantee. For that matter, she owned their entire security system, so she'd be able to tell when anybody even entered the computer room. Which they'd have to chop down the door to do, as she'd changed the passcode on the door. (Any job worth doing was worth covering all the contingencies for.)
Stealing all of their data was not particularly difficult once she was inside; she'd dumped it to an off-site storage, scrambled most of what was on-site, and only left them just enough to be able to do basic work. Heck, she had better access to their data than they did now.
The contract hadn't said much about how she had to deliver the ultimatum. But when she discovered that the CFO and chair of the Board were conspiring in the boardroom, and the boardroom had a high ceiling, lots of windows, and a full holographic projection system installed... well, Deedee simply had to put on a proper performance for this. They weren't going to be forgetting this warning soon...
So, I got another painted commission from
BlackestManamultis recently, and when thinking of characters to work with this, I realized that while Deedee isn't actually a macro, as a hacker if she got her hands on a good projection system she could certainly play one... and a big holographic projection should work really well in a painted format.
Definitely worth it.

She's the hacker in my needs-to-be-edited cyberpunk novel. Everybody in that world is actually human, all the 'furries' used high-end plastic surgery to get that way.
First picture of her: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/26328749/
Dressed for an infiltration mission: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/49268593/
She's the daughter of a rock-star, got her start programming the pyrotechnics displays and doing mixing for her mother's shows, and like her mother, she likes to make a big production out of it if she thinks she can get away with it. She goes by 'Deedee', for 'Disposable Deck', because of her technique of using old throwaway equipment and mixing and matching components so she's never using exactly the same machine twice, making her harder to trace.
Sadly, this scene doesn't appear in the novel.

Oh, my! :3 I'm sure I don't know anything about that.
"It's only a paper moon behind the sky, when you dance with the devil
in the pale moonlight, Jake; but I can live with it. For 'bout ten minutes
longer."

Technically we have encountered her in VR before, in the 365-word short story I wrote here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/45985768/. She's not macro even in VR in that bit, but she's still trolling people.
But yes, when you're in VR with a hacker who has already cracked the physics engine for the VR system so they can mess with 'reality'... you're probably in for a ride.

Yeah, I figured the artist's painting style would really lend itself to a projected image like this. Sometimes it's all about getting the right artist for the idea.
And Deedee is a fun character. Like all the other 'furry' characters in this particular cyberpunk world, it's all just extensive plastic surgery, but she had the money, she was actively trying to erase her old identity anyway, and the 'computer mouse' joke was just too obvious to pass up.
