Oh boy I liked this one. This is an idea I've had rolling in my head for the longest time trying to think up some origin ideas for my space lemur.
The thought was that he and his primate kind, the Inakua-Kua, was an undiscovered neolithic tribal society on his home planet of Yrivya. The dense megaforests were their home, a difficult terrain they were specialized in traversing through. Eventually they were discovered by a far more advanced civilizations and, much like human history, introduced technology into their society, thousands of years more advanced than their own most sophisticated tools made from hard bones or, at best, crude shaped metals.
Whatever the reasons may have been, an attempt to forge an alliance? Get the Inakua to help fight their wars? It inevitable changed the tribalkind forever! While they now had access to space age technology and a vast understanding of their capabilities and inner functions, their way of life did not change much. Society remained as tree-dwelling primates, adorned in feathery garments and waistcloths, practicing their pagan beliefs protected by their ultradense forest home. Only now they were armed with laser rifles, energy swords, teleporters and molecular-precision medical tools.

I can't find the pirate crew lineup pic on his FA but found a DA post of it when I searched online. They're from his Final Days trilogy novels
