Nope Kami does, those it has a very broad definition and does mean more then that. This link should help. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kami
Also Amaterasu, is one of these Kami, which come from the Shinto faith.
And after checking my sources it seems I mis-spelled the word for wolf which is actually Ookami, with two 'o's
