Carlos Luis Martin

Bom on October 28, 1916 in San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba.

Nicknamed "Caralinda" (Spanish for "Pretty face") for his striking looks, he turned the basic cross strike into a true art form thanks to his masterful technique. After winning his first championship in 1940, he befriended renowned Latino big band director Gabriel Ferragut, In his title defense agalnst Mike Bottini, he threw in the towel after recelving a flerce blow that split his eyebrow.

Although he retired shorty after, it would only be for the better since the ex-boxer soon starred in "Rooster of Dawn", the first musical comedy produced by Ferragu's entertainment empire.
