Here we find our local adventurer traveling to a not so nearby village to deal with some pests or other infestation problems. It's far enough away that he'll save an entire day of travel time by riding. There's a herd of unicorns in his hometown and he's hired one of them to take him along. The unicorns are smart enough to hire a business manager to deal with their financial transactions and housing maintenance.
This particular unicorn is named Star Socks. She's Worked with Breezer several times before, so she know she'll be well paid and well looked after. She'll be as safe as her own survival instincts allow. ( She'll hang out in the local visiting mounts barn ) When they return home, Star Socks will return to her herd's barn with her own stall, where there will be plenty of fresh cedar shavings on the floor, hay and alfalfa in the manger, a bucket of grain, and a perpetual supply of clean, fresh water.
The squirrels are just scrounging up nuts in the town square. They're sufficiently accustomed to the passage of unicorns that they hardly bother to do more than make sure they're unlikely to be stepped on.
