EF28 Artshow - Not a rodent
A silly little illustration that was born out of a personal pet peeve of mine, haha.
Once upon a time, rabbits, hares and pika were classed under the order of Rodentia, but now they are instead classed under the order of Lagomorpha - they now share the clade of Glires. Though the mistake is understandable due to their similarities, they have a number of big differences.
Anyhoo, I absolutely love lagomorphs and should honestly draw them more. I especially love hares, and the way they seem to stare into your soul. I once had one running ahead of me while riding my bicycle to horseback riding class, which was a fascinating experience (I do hope the poor hare wasn't too panicked, though).
This piece was almost entirely made with Faber Castell Polychromos pencils, with only some watercolour used for the background and some white gel pen highlights. I honestly need to work on my typography skills, I haven't had to use it much since I quit artschool, haha.
This piece will be available during the EF artshow, as well as in print form at my dealer's den booth. In the future I'll also be turning this handsome creature into stickers/pins/keychains.
