And now for some good ol' campfire cookin' from

******************************
So, a couple of weeks ago, I was yet again visiting the familiar campfire site
with my nephews. The same site where my Campfire Champignons
and Campfire Bell Peppers were made at. This time we cooked some
sausages filled with Feta cheese for us to eat there.
Sausages flavoured with Feta cheese can be bought pre-made
from stores too (at least here in Finland), but making these ones
shouldn't be too hard, even if it might not look as practical visually speaking.
INGREDIENTS
Sausages
Feta cheese
Sauce of your choice (optional)
EQUIPMENT
Firewood
Lighter
Knife
Kitchen paper
Water (for extinguishing the fire)
Plates (regular or disposable ones)
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Make a longitudinal cut on each sausage
and fill with Feta cheese (as much as fits into the cut)
2. Place the sausages onto the campfire grating
and let them cook for as long as you deem necessary.
Make sure to keep a watch on the sausages as they're cooking!
The cut made onto them might start to open up as they're cooking
on the campfire (as seen in the photo above) and if you're not paying
attention, the filling might end up falling down into the fire.
If a sausage starts to have its cut opening up, it's better to take it
off the campfire grating before the filling falls off.
The Feta cheese doesn't need to downright melt just as long as
the sausage is cooked well enough.
3. Serve either as such or with a sauce of your choice.
I tried out Hellmann's Mayo and Super Safkaa's garlic-flavoured
kebab sauce. The sausages tasted pretty good with both of these sauces.
NOTES
If you're cooking food at a campfire in nature
remember to follow the basic rules of thumb.
Do not make a campfire when it's too dry or too windy,
or whenever there is a warning of forest fire in your region.
Don't trash nature, make sure to extinguish the campfire
properly before leaving the place, et cetera.
