Chapter I: A New Life

The dragoness weaves inbetween the clouds as she rushes home to her family. A mothers sense told her something just wasn't right. She hopes that nothing terrible had happened while she was out searching for the weeks meal.
She lands rather harshly outside of her lair, her wings folding in quickly as she rushes inside, only to be greeted by her daughter, whom was in tears.
"Mother!", Kaira shouts, rather excited. Mom was totally puzzled, thrown off by the mixture of tears and excitment.
"What is it, Kaira?", she asks curiously, not really knowing how to react to her daughter.
"The egg..", the smaller female responds quietly, "It's moving.." The mothers expression instantly changes to one of happiness as both females rush over to where it was. Both were happy to see the fragile egg being guarded by Narth, the mothers son.
Paytrins (mother) gaze falls down onto the egg, watching it closely as it moves in the coils of Narths flexable tail. A few tears fall from her eyes as her mind began to fill with thoughts. ~If only he was here to see this..~
The three continued to have their eyes fixated on the egg, hoping each movement would bring a new life into their den. A few long moments pass, and a crack quickly travels down the side of the egg. Kaira couldn't help but chirp in excitement, and anticipation, wondering if her second sibling would be a male or female. Narth just continued to watch without saying anything, though he had a slight smirk perched along his lips.
After another minute or two pass, a second crack finds its way down the oposite side of the egg. Paytrin's and Kaira's hearts began to race, almost sensing what the hatchling inside was feeling. He was anxious, wanting to break free of the prison that is the egg. He was also excited, knowing that he was about to enter a new world.
A third crack seems to complete the new hatchlings freedom. Once it reached the bottem of the egg, the side gave way, bringing with it a new, rather small red dragon. He let out a light eep when he fell onto the ground. Paytrin instantly hopped over to her newborn, and began to tend to him, cleaning him thoroughly and making sure he was in good health. She checks him closely, trying to spot any abnormalities on him. She couldn't find any, other than his rather small size.
The new hatchling was grunting every now and then, squirming about which made it difficult for his mother to clean the ooz off of his deep red scales. Paytrin did finish cleaning him off however, rather quickly too.. She did have experience with restless hatchlings afterall. After she was done, the hatchling let out a yawn, and his natural instinct made him curl into his mothers warmth, and quickly slip into the dream world. He was snug, safe, and warm.
"Mom?..", Kaira says softly. Paytrin seemed to be lost in a trance as she gazed intently at her sleeping hatchling. A few tears flew from her eyes once more, and rolled down her cheek. She smiled widely, after a few moments, and nods, thusly looking up at Kaira with a slight tilt to her head.
"Yes?" She asks warmly.
"Well.." Kaira responds with her ears lowered. "Is.. He?.. Okay?" She hesitated lightly, not knowing if she had a new brother or sister.
"Yes.. Yes he is." Paytrin said confidently, sure that her newborn was in good health. Kiara just smiles in response to her mothers words, and nods a few times before laying down next to her.
Narth simply moved around to the otherside of the flame they were around, and lays his head down on his paws, looking over at the three. He had a soft smile on his muzzle, thinking about all the things he'll be able to do with another addition to the family.
"Ferron..", Paytrin said.
"F.. Ferron?", questioned Kiara.
"That's his name.. It fits perfectly..", mother said softly, giving her napping newborn a light nuzzle, making sure not to wake him.

Chapter 1 to my story! Sorry it took so long to get up. I've just been gravely distracted with other things! I hope ya'll enjoyed the first chapter. There are quit a few more to come! ^.=.^
