From the sounds of it, there is a part of rush still lingering in there, just the spirit is kinda "taking the wheel" at the time.
I doubt she'll believe them at first, but this might just be the thing to get her to start "doubting" her current actions and maybe give Hawke and crew a window to break the control shes under.
