In the land of Gaiana, there lives a massive clan of Kobolds underneath the Jasper Forest. They are simple mineral loving folk who simply wish to thrive and survive. It takes a keen minded leader and a big population to be a successful clan of Kobolds. In this case, Queen Yoko is perfect for the job. Selected from a young age to take the place of the old Queen, she began to be fed very special gems that were only meant for important kobolds that slowly began to increase her intelligence until it was on par with a smarter than average humanoid.

Once it was time, the old Queen transferred her ancient rite into Yoko, causing her to from then on reproduce her own kind. Each pregnancy would last a few months, and she’d get a week until after the birth until she became pregnant again. Like a reptilian termite queen. Despite all the stress this gives her body, Yoko is a fair and pleasing ruler who only resorts to violence in defense of her people, and is willing to allow explorers in and out as long as they cause no trouble and agree to keep their location a secret. This however doesn’t apply to the wolves and oaklings of Jasper, who live just above the ground and frequently trade with the kobolds.

Yoko dreams that one day, a foretold champion among Kobolds would rise. One with the ability to transform into a dragon through the consumption of enough gems, as well as one very special stone that the queen keeps in secret. A dragon that will lead all kobolds to a free life above ground and free from the world’s persecution. Little did Yoko know, that day would come soon…
