Yeeeeaahh, normally I wouldn't post anything completely non-furry, but if I only post this to Devart then it won't get any notice at all. And I want people to actually see it, so I'm making an exception to my rule. Of course, I was going to make this the devart image and then create an exact replica using my bunny persona, but I didn't feel I could accurately recreate it once I was through.
If you're a Stargate fan, of the Atlantis series in particular, and you missed last night's episode, then skip over what I'm about to say because it's a spoiler. But what happened at the end of the episode really struck me for some reason and... I had one of my weepy moments...
I know, I know, it's just a stupid show, whatever... but I love the series and I've grown attached to these characters, so to see one of them go just breaks my heart. And Dr. Carson Beckett, played by Paul McGillion, was one of the last people I expected to lose his life, especially mid-season... Atlantis will not be the same without him.
This image was meant to show myself as a member of the Atlantis expedition, grieving his loss in my own way, alone in my room, overlooking the city.
My only disappointments in the piece are that I didn't have any solid referances for the city on hand, so the background through the window is kind of random and doesn't really look like Atlantian design. And secondly, I keep forgetting there are some key differences between the Atlantis team uniforms and the SG-1 unifroms, and didn't realize I was probably drawing myself in completely the wrong outfit(all I had on me were a few old images of Daniel Jackson I'd been using for my original Enders Saga project).

Aren't they underwater? Didn't know they could see the moon. But then again I don't watch the show >.<
Nice picture. I had seen a few episodes of that series when it started (My brother is a big Stargate fan), but I didn't find it as interesting as he did. Still, this is a great piccy

In all technicalities, It was actually a site build by furs borne in protest of Devient/Sheezy art.
Sheezy art started when Deviant Art startet to restrict more mature subject matter. This was great at first, everyone flocked to Sheezy.
Sheezy, however, started getting advertisers. And Advertisers wanted Sheezy to stop hosting such extreame stuff. So when they announced that they would no longer host adult work, There was great outrage. AT THE SAME TIME, y-gallery announced told the fluffs to Yiff in Hell, Furfags.
So, Fur Affinity rose. It was a rocky start, but FA is dedicated to providing an awsome place for artists to doodle whatever they want, how they want, as smutty as they want.
Even humans.

well, I'm rather certain FA was around before Y-gallery told us to split, it just used to be hella slow and not particularly popular... but yeah, we're lucky they got their act together and the site up and running smoothly again right about that time. Cause I was certainly pissed about getting the boot from Y-Gallery... <.<;;
