"Oough, did you have to eat the entire colony of 'em?"
I say, trying to keep my slime filled self from toppling over one way or the other.
"Can't say that I did." I hear Kio chirp from somewhere over my belly. "I think I saw a good third of them enter you while I was going after the others!" A snicker building up as he says that. It certainly was a lot, and all so suddenly. One moment Me and Kio were just on a usual beach walk and passed the tidal pools like normal. Then the next thing I know, I spot a unusual color to one of the pools just as the other ones around me start to rise and it wasn't from the tide! All of them massive from the lapping ocean water and yet their size remained well hidden in the pools until they struck.
Kio seemed elated to have so many slimes at once, so many slimes in fact that he couldn't take bites out of them fast enough. Sure as he said some had slipped on by and into me. They didn't relent until the last slime was nothing but a core and scooted away with the others, leaving me and Kio as the ultimate pool of slime in the end.
"Besides, you know they wouldn't have given up once you fell like that." Kio says, and he was right about that. We were swarmed so quickly that it wasn't even a few steps before I was effectively immobilized from both Kio's feeding frenzy and the slimes themselves. Probably for the best though, knowing my luck I would have ran right into one of the pools and then we'd really be stuck.
"Explains that, I think there's more of you in me than me at this point!" I say, taking a deep breath to keep my full, groaning belly soothed as it tried it's best to accommodate the slime and shark within. "Well, we're certainly not walking anywhere soon like this but it's not all bad news. At least we're in a good spot for when the tide comes in I can swim us out of here."
"As long as no other slimes roll in with the tide..." I hear Kio say, though weather out of worry or of excitement I can't quite tell. Though I swear I could hear his smile as he said that...
