I finally figured out why my bananas were going bad so soon after I bought them
Just a quick sketch for today haha! Sorry it's not as detailed as most of my things.

As people with kitten-cats, 5 kitten cats, the hubby and I have some advice!
Hang them.
Look into a ceiling mounted banana hanger (they also make standing ones, but I suspect that wouldn’t do much in cat deterrence or prevention).
A few other general tips, also store them in a a cooler place. Warmth will cause them to ripen faster, by extension, spoil faster. Also keep them in a dimmer/darker area, away from direct sunlight, especially.
You can store them in the fridge. They need to be ripe first though, they will stay unripe if just put in there.
It affects appearance though, the peel will brown or blacken despite the fruit within still being good. Which can be off putting.
You can also freeze them. They’re great for natural “ice cream”. You freeze it solid, then run it through a blender or food processor until creamy. It has a cool ice cream-esque texture!

Ooh, I may start putting them in the fridge! Thanks for the info! I always heard not to, but the way you've explained it makes sense!
She (mostly) bites the stems, I suspect. She has a habit of nibbling things that stick out -fingers, pencils/pens, tableware, my effing NIPPLE once lmfao
But yeah, I kept asking my partners "Why do y'all keep separating the bananas" and NO ONE would own up to it! I'm so glad this tiny mystery has been solved!
