I redrew him to be scaled to the same scale as the size Blast is now. Honduran White Bats are tiny, after all. I think it is really silly to have his first line when you try to talk to him(by firing an Echoblast in his direction) be "No soy algodon." Anyway, he realizes you are a different kind of bat, and asks for a fig. I had an idea that he then mentions cotton will react to the guardian seed Blast carries behind his ear to make a shield powerup. And there would be dialog later on if you do that sidequest that points out figs actually contain wasps. I was intending it to be a running gag that Blast gets uncomfortable with the idea of others eating insects or fish, as he is a vegetarian. He sometimes forgets obligate carnivores exist. And in a setting where birds and mammals are all sapient, it is much more ethical to eat a grasshopper or ants.
