I am guessing there is a marked difference in both age and experience between Kev'Ver and Val'Lyn... it seems that while they share the same rank, between the obvious battle scars and the more jaded and suspicious mindset of Val'Lyn vs the seeming naïve and clean cut Kev'Ver, there is still quite a difference between them.

That said, Val'Lyn obviously sees something in the young up and coming tracker that has her attention and she is quite willing to ensure she has his attention in return.
