Now when I saw this bus park there in the yard... nostalgia hits real hard. I missed these buses a lot. They used to RULE the roads in NYC streets. Rode them endlessly when I was a child and all the way through my adult years. Remembering the deisel fumes and the loud engine in the back and I would get sick from it. All good memories! Funny how this bus doesn't feel old but it's been a lot of years.
If I knew the guy who saved this bus and preserved it. I wanted to give him a big shout out! Thank you for all your time and hard work to put into this!

Funny enough, growing up in a small town for about 20 years (until a couple years ago), I never even saw a bus like this but once or twice, ever. Busses do nonetheless get me pretty nostalgic, but my nostalgia is for school busses in particular - especially old ones from about the 1980s, like the ones my school system used to have. Technically, they did get new busses later on in the 00s, but still had a lot of old ones in reserve that I remember. I can remember being a kid in the 00s, riding on an ancient, decades-old bus with half-working electronics and musty, terrible interior, fading and chipping paint, the whole bit, going on a field trip to who-knows-where early as hell in the morning. Nice and crisp outside, nice sunrise, I honestly wish I could time travel and go on a field trip again as an adult. Oh yeah, and those old busses were breaking down all the time, too. There was always one or another being worked on in a mechanic...shed...thing, not far from where all the busses were usually parked. And you know what a weird thing to be nostalgic for is? Riding in those busses, on cold days. Being all bundled up, breathing onto the dirty, germy window to fog it up and writing stupid things on it, seeing the countryside as trees were either losing leaves or had none at all. Cold as hell as those busses never had working heating. I remember when we got new busses in the 00s, it was a luxury just having music coming from speakers above! Weird things to fondly remember...
