So here we go again, me uploadin' photos of things from real life. Silly me.
Anyways, I attended No-Brand Con in Eau Claire this year, and I had a blast there! Unlike the first time I attended, back in 2007, I decided to mix things up by cosplaying this year. I really didn't have much in mind, nor the time, so I just decided to mix things up with some of my airsoft gear.
Needless to say, the end result was better than I expected. Some of you may or may not agree with me, but I had tons of pictures taken of me when I was there. I couldn't walk down the hallways without being stopped and asked for a photo at least once or twice every few minutes, and all of that during my two day stay!
I initially was hoping to strike a look as a Helghast, with the stuff I had laying around. I made the gas-mask myself, using a 35 dollar respirator as a base. Otherwise you've all seen my airsoft gear previously. However, as I wore it during No-Brand, I thought to myself that I should really spin it off as my own character. The appearance is similar to a Helghast, and it won't be helping that I intend to illuminate the goggles this month, but still.
Despite nearly overheating on several occasions (three layers on top, two on the bottom) during the harshly cold spring of April in Wisconsin this year, I would still do it again, even during summer, which I intend to when I attend Wausaubi Con and Geek.kon in the next following months.
Needless to say, if you're a Wisconsin Fur attending Wausaubi con and Geek.kon, feel free to pull me over and say hi! I don't bite, I promise! 'Sides, it would be awfully hard to try and bite though that respirator anyways, nor none that pleasant.
Be sure to let me know what you think of the costume, I would like some feedback for a change! XD

Thanks! I was actually frightening one young lady every time I passed by. Her group would laugh at her when she did!
I've got plans to make the goggles glow green by using LED assemblies from flicker LED candles. Imagine that look but with glowing, flickering green goggles! :D

Yus, it was definitely silly!
And I don't believe so, not with the way I'm going to angle them.
The LED assembly will be setup in the helmet, and the LED's will be under the goggles, facing down from the top. It'll be bright, but at least they won't be shining straight into my eyes that way XD

*nod* I'll try and keep that advice in mind :3
I wouldnt imagine them being too bright though, since these are candle LED's, which flicker too, but who knows. I haven't had a chance to actually make the LED harness yet, which I need to do considering Wausaubi Con starts soon in Early July.

*nod* Probably not, but some people are lightsensitive and get headaches from light like that. :)
Hahaha, yeah, you don't wanna put it off like I did! XD I leave for a con today and spent all last night sewing the jacket and painting the symbols onto the back of it and tweaking the last bit of my automail for my costume that I wear tomorrow. It sucks to put things off til the last minute. XDD
