reuploading my now-complete fossil guides and including sfw versions!
introducing the last of my four unscrambled galar fossils: this is the sfw version of dracosuchus (DRAY-co-SOO-kus), the fully restored fossilized drake! the prehistoric ancestor of krookodile and feraligatr, this huge croc is capable of ambushing its prey from the water as well as sprinting after prey on land. its large tusk-like lower fangs are used less for combat and more for display and digging dens in soft river mud. despite being a vicious apex predator, female dracosuchus are doting mothers who will care for their young much like mammalians will.
this fossil is often restored as a stegosaur, but that didn't feel dragon enough to me, so the base artist and i chose to model it after kaprosuchus, an ancient crocodilian that was able to run!
